independent (lawyer or notary)

Your file is the sole responsibility of your professional and the latter is responsible for the protection of the personal information he or she holds.

Rest assured that we take rigorous measures to guarantee the security and confidentiality of your data and respect the standards prescribed by our professional order. Also, the information you give us in confidence is protected by the professional secrecy associated with legal advisors.

Please note that the use of the masculine or feminine gender to define a person includes any gender identity or expression with which a person may identify.
 

This privacy policy (hereinafter referred to as “this policy”) applies to the Just Human website and to all confidential information collected by the independent counsel members of the collective, in accordance with the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, as well as any other applicable law or regulation.
 

In this policy, the terms “we”, “us” and “our” refer to each independent legal counsel member of the just human collective, as well as the companies in which they practice their profession, where applicable.
 

The purpose of this policy is to describe just human' s personal information handling practices, including the collection, use, disclosure and retention of personal information through our website or through various means of communication (telephone, Internet, fax or other).
 

Just Humans collects, uses, discloses and retains personal information in accordance with the Civil Code of Québec and the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, while maintaining the confidentiality of such information.
 

Our commitment

At Just Human, our activities are based on a close relationship between the professional members of the collective, their support staff and their clients.

Our collective provides legal services, while our clients entrust us with highly confidential personal information.

It is important for us to maintain this trust, and to confirm our determination to preserve the security of the personal information shared in the course of our business relationship.

What is personal information?

Personal information is information about a natural person that allows that person to be identified. This information is confidential and includes, but is not limited to, date of birth, social insurance number and driver's license number. With certain exceptions, they may not be communicated without the consent of the person concerned.

juste humain collects only the information necessary for its activities and implements safeguards upon receipt of such information. Furthermore, we only collect information that is relevant, appropriate and limited to the purposes for which it is processed.

In particular, we collect only the information necessary to perform the tasks for which we are contracted to provide legal services.

This information is regularly updated during meetings with our professional members of the collective or their staff, who provide us with any information to be updated.

Personal information concerning specific individuals is confidential. In general, it cannot be shared without the consent of the person in question.

Such information may include, but is not limited to:

  • Name;

  • Date of birth / date of death;

  • Social insurance number;

  • Home address;

  • Telephone and fax numbers;

  • E-mail addresses;

  • Marital status;

  • Income/expenses;

  • Names of other professionals involved, bank advisor or financial advisor;

  • Contact details of banking institution;

  • Medical data.
     

In order to create, obtain and update files, our clients must sign a consent form, included in their professional services agreement, which will then be added to their file.
 

Collection and retention of personal information

Personal information is collected and retained as follows:

  • In paper form, on Just Human premises;

  • In digital form, stored on just human servers on our premises or at our infrastructure host;

  • In digital form on the servers of the Para-Maître, Secure Exchanges or Microsoft 365 software used by just human in connection with our business activities related to the services you request.
     

Purposes of processing personal information

Personal information is collected for clear, explicit and legitimate purposes. Depending on the context, this information may be used for the following purposes:

  • File processing;

  • Responding to satisfaction surveys and carrying out statistical analyses to improve services and better understand our customers;

  • To process job applications;

  • To meet legal or regulatory obligations.

Personal information is confidential and may only be accessed by members of the company's human resources department or by persons duly authorized by the latter. Our training courses clearly teach us the need to use this information only for the specific purposes intended. In fact, as soon as they start work, employees who are not subject to professional secrecy will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement.
 

juste humain takes all necessary measures to protect and secure personal information, in order to preserve its confidentiality and prevent any alteration, destruction or unauthorized disclosure to third parties.
 

These measures are in place for as long as is necessary for the purposes intended in accordance with applicable legislation or regulations. However, there is no such thing as totally secure transmission or storage of information. Consequently, an absolute guarantee of the security of information transmitted or stored cannot be provided.
 

Collection of personal information via our website
